Entertainment checkout often combines limited inventory, a short reservation window, digital fulfillment, add-ons, and demand peaks. DEUNA keeps payment attempts and asynchronous outcomes connected to the merchant order so inventory and customer operations can make safe decisions.

Protect inventory during payment#

  1. Reserve inventory in the merchant system and create the DEUNA order with a stable reference.
  2. Set an expiration compatible with the inventory hold and provider journey.
  3. Keep the same order and payment attempt while the result is pending or the customer returns from a redirect.
  4. Confirm the authoritative payment state before issuing tickets or releasing the reservation.
  5. Make fulfillment and notification idempotent so duplicate events do not issue inventory twice.

Use the Cinema order model when the documented screening and seating fields match your implementation. For other entertainment models, use common order fields and supported metadata; do not infer undocumented event or ticketing fields from the cinema example.

Prepare for high-demand operations#

  • Load-test the complete merchant, DEUNA, provider, and webhook path for expected sale peaks.
  • Decide how expired inventory, late payment confirmation, duplicate callbacks, and customer refreshes behave.
  • Keep tickets, add-ons, taxes, and concessions distinct when fulfillment or refund rules differ.
  • Test full and partial refunds, canceled or rescheduled events, fraud review, disputes, and customer-service lookup.
